This contemporary kitchen replaced the old, worn-out ‘country style‘ kitchen the client previously had.

When designing a new kitchen, it is important to ensure the floor matches with and complements the worktop. These are both on the horizontal, so the eye puts the two together. In between, the vertical cabinets join these two horizontals, and all three must work together to create a cohesive look.

The client chose dark wood cabinetry for the wall units, with high-gloss base and tall larder units. The worktop is quartz, and the floor tiles are polished porcelain. The reflective nature of the tiles and their large size both add to the feeling of space in the kitchen.

The new American-style fridge freezer fits perfectly into the recess where the hob had previously been.

We worked with the client to create the whole look and feel of the new kitchen. This included choosing paint colours, unit colour and finish, worktop, flooring, lighting, and appliances.

Client Testimonial

"Finishing Touch helped me with the planning, layout, and design of my new kitchen, and I love how it has all come together. It looks great and functions really well as a working kitchen, which is exactly what I wanted. Nicola had great ideas and suggestions for things like the flooring, and the combination of different finishes. She stressed the importance of planning at the initial stage, which really paid off. Nicola knows her stuff, and her enthusiasm made this project more enjoyable than I expected it to be."
